Local Payments Explained

Local Payments (to Oz Ex)

What are they?

Local Payments are paid to cover meals and accommodation for specific locations on some Oz Experience passes.

Most local payments are paid to Oz Experience before you start travelling. However, the Kroombit Cattle Station, and Spot X Surf Camp payments are made directly to those suppliers when you arrive at their facilities.

Different sectors of travel have different local payment inclusions and prices. Please see the table below for detailed listings.

Why do I need to pay this?

For your freedom, accommodation and meals are generally not included in Oz Experience pass prices.

However, because of the remoteness of some of the areas you will travel to, and the lack of multiple accommodation options and catering options to buy food; a local payment covering food and accommodation is collected.

In many cases your local payments will include entry fees into national parks and attractions. To get you the best deal possible, we collect these amounts before you travel. This means that once you're here, you're straight on your way! Easy.
