You will stop at this iconic pub/hotel on the Stuart Highway that has been welcoming travellers for a break in their journey since the early days of European settlement in the region.  It's the oldest pub in the Northern Territory and also the first airport in Australia!

Destination Wiki: Daly Waters

A wiki is a web page updateable by anyone. By travellers, for travellers. Update this yourself! Powered by Travel Generation.

Since 1893 there has been a hotel/pub on the present site which has become famous in the Northern Territory as a welcoming comfort stop for 'drovers' moving cattle in the area north and south between Alice Springs and Darwin.

Today there's a very small population living at Daly waters and the pub's interior is almost a museum of for travellers passing through and having a steak and beer at the bar - a real slice of outback Australian life. The pub also acts as also acts as a bank, post office and police station.
