Kroombit Cattle Station Goat Rodeo

In Outback Queensland sometimes you have to think outside the square. This was the case when we asked Alan from Kroombit Cattle Station to think of a way of showing our travelers about how to handle animals and to show off the outback lifestyle. What they came up with is affectionately now known as Goat Rodeo. Before we go to far, it should be explained that all animals are looked after at all times with their welfare as the paramount concern. Everyone on the Oz Experience bus at this overnight stop gets to have a go (if they want to) trying to catch a penned goat. You work in teams and have to safely catch the goat, see if it is carrying milk, milk it and then drink it! Eeeww! The fastest team to do this wins bragging rights on the day.
This activity is exclusive to Oz Experience travellers, indeed you'll be lucky to meet other travellers at Kroombit. The secrets not out yet!



There's alot more to do here besides the Goat Rodeo. Other included activities are whip cracking and the mechanical bull - if you dare.

For $40 you can go on an awesome Horse Ride/Goat Muster and round up the goats in time for the Goat Rodeo. Experienced riders can gallop - there's no cheaper place on the East Coast for such a ride with a difference.

You might also want ot have a go at clay target shooting ($10 for 5 shots) with a shotgun (all highly supervised).

Chill out at the end of the day with a beer round the Wagon Bar and and tuck into the hearty camp oven dinner.
