To make the most of your travels with Oz Experience we suggest checking off these tips:

• If you have booked a specific date of departure,
call 1300 300 028 to re-confirm your booking at least 48 hours before your departure. If your booking is open-dated (no specific starting date booked) call at least 72 hours to 5 days before the date you wish to travel.

• Where do I depart from?
When you re-confirm you will be advised your nearest pick up point and time. If you know what pick point is closest to where you are staying you still need to advise us accordingly. Note we don’t pick up from every hostel.

• Do I need to book my accommodation for my first night on the day I start my pass?
No, your guide can arrange this first night of accommodation. However, if you join a bus after 11am on the morning of the day of your arrival at an overnight stop Oz Experience cannot assist with booking accommodation for you. If you wish to stay longer it is your responsibility to organize an extended stay. Why not take advantage of our accommodation booking service on this website.

• Manage your itinerary online.
When you reconfirm or make a booking you will also be sent a username and password to allow you to book on and off the buses. You can log into your booking via the “Passenger Log in” under the “from the traveler” section on the left hand side of the homepage of this website. There are also some directions about how to mange your itinerary online there as well.
This will give you direct access to see if there are seats available on buses you need to get onto. Depending on the time of year and where you are getting on the bus, buses can be very busy out of popular places like Sydney, Byron Bay, Hervey Bay and Airlie Beach.
A little bit of planning ahead will give you an even better time. Note: the online itinerary manager only works when booking buses between Sydney and Cairns.

• Think about making the best use of your time. Ask yourself:
How much time do I have?
Do I need to coordinate my travel days with the timetable?
What optional activities do I really want to do?
What places do I want to stay longer at?
Our minimum RECOMMENDED time for traveling between Sydney and Cairns is 20 Days. It is only a recommendation, you could travel faster or slower (up to six months). If you travel faster you won’t have time to get off at key hot spots and spend some time off the bus. Oz Experience is all about getting off the bus as much as it is about being on it because of its hop-on hop-off style and doing many of the optional activities your guide can book for you .
