Local Payments You Pay Others

At Kroombit Cattle Station and Surf Camp because there are no other accommodation options due to isolation we’ve got you a really good deal for accommodation and meals. Unlike Local Payments, you pay these direct to the accommodation suppliers at these locations.

Sydney to/from Byron Bay

Surf Camp - AU$45 = Accommodation: 1 night multi-share. Meals: 1 Dinner, 1 Breakfast.

Byron Bay/Brisbane to Cairns

Kroombit Cattle Station - AU$45 = 2 course bush dinner, breakfast and bunkhouse accommodation at an Aussie cattle station.

Local Payments You Pay Oz Ex

Local Payments are paid to cover meals and accommodation on certain parts of some Oz Experience passes.
Local Payments are normally paid to Oz Experience before you start travelling, however, there are a couple of payments that you will need to make directly to suppliers along the East Coast (Kroombit Cattle Station and Surf Camp).

Accommodation and meals are generally not included in Oz Experience pass prices. However, because of the remoteness of some of the areas you will travel to and the lack of multiple accommodation options and catering options to buy pre-made food, or lack of self-catering facilities or general convenience to feed 20+ people a meal; a local payment covering primarily food and accommodation is collected.

Different sectors of travel have different local payment inclusions and prices. You are not being charged more to travel with us. You only pay this amount before you travel for convenience and to get you the best deal possible.
