Magnetic Island is an island directly off the coast of Townsville in Far North Queensland. Over half the land area of the island is a National Park. Magnetic Island is roughly 7km by 5km, with 25km of walking tracks and several beaches and little bays.

Magnetic Island gives you that island experience without the costs, located just 8 kilometres off Townsville. Ferries depart regularly throughout the day from the Ferry Terminal in Townsville town centre. It averages over 320 days of sunshine per year. More than half of the Island's 5,184 hectares is National Park. The National Park is a haven for wildlife, like rock wallabies, possums, koalas and a wide variety of bird-life. There are 24 kms of walking track through the park with many spectacular lookouts.

- Most nightlife is centred around your hostel so pick a good one!
