What is a "Minimum Recommended TripTime"
Every pass has a "minimum recommended trip time". This is the minimum amount of time we think you should allow to travel on a particular pass so you have enough time to get off the bus and stay longer at key places and do optional activities that you want to thus making the most of Oz Experience. Of course, you could travel faster than the minimum but you wont have much time off the bus. And you could take longer longer, up to 6 months (and you can extend your pass to up to 12 months for an additional AU$50 payment)

How much time do I need on the East Coast?
Always check the Timetable relevant to you for when and where the buses leave. You can check availability and book on each bus you want to travel on via our online system here once you have purchased your pass.
Choose the places you definitely want to go to, and roughly how long you want to stay there. For example, on the East Coast:
• Byron Bay: 4-5 days
• Surfers Paradise: 2-3 days
• Noosa Heads: 2-3 days
• Rainbow Beach: Fraser Island 3 days plus 2-3 days chilling out
• Town of 1770: 2-3 days
• Airlie Beach: 2 days plus 2-3 days sailing
• Magnetic Island: 2-3 days
• Cairns: 4-6 days, or longer
That’s already over a month excluding the days travelling in between. So to avoid disappointment always plan for more time, not less.
